LA EcoTalks is proud to welcome Robert Egger to The G2 Gallery for a lecture on hunger, sustainability, and social enterprise. Egger founded DC Central Kitchen, the country’s first “community kitchen,” awherein donated food from hospitality businesses and farms was used to fuel a nationally recognized culinary program while producing more than 26 million meals and 1000 jobs. Now at the helm of the nonprofit organization LA Kitchen, Egger works to ensure that neither food nor people are wasted. Its innovative model combines food recovery, job training, meal production, volunteer engagement, and social enterprise.
