Two Birding Photography Workshops with Wildlife Photographer Dave Collins
Saturday, May 7, 7 a.m. – 12 p.m. | Morning Workshop at Ballona Creek
Join Dave Collins for coffee and pastries at The G2 Gallery. After introductions, Dave will give a basic orientation talking about what to look for when photographing in the wild and basic camera settings. The group will then head to Ballona Creek and start at the Del Rey Lagoon on Pacific Ave. After photographing birds in the lagoon for a couple hours the group will walk over to the jetty and spend the remainder of the time taking pictures with Dave offering hands on instruction.
Saturday, May 7, 3:30 p.m. – dusk | Afternoon Workshop at Malibu Creek
The afternoon workshop will be held at Malibu Creek State Park. The group will meet in the parking lot at 3:30 p.m. for a brief orientation and then head out into the park to photograph birds until dusk with Dave offering hands on instruction.
Both events are free, RSVP is required, please specify which workshop you’re interested in. Limited to 10 people for each workshop.

Telephoto lens, teleconverter (i.e. 1.4-2.0), cameras, extra batteries, extra memory cards, tripod, binoculars, shooting gloves, shooting vest, comfortable shoes, bottled water, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, and layers of clothing.
