This month’s guest speaker is Michael Klubock, founder and Executive Director of the Malibu Foundation for Environmental Education. Michael created a school assembly program designed to inspire and involve kids in protecting the oceans, the coasts, and marine wildlife. He has presented this program to more than half a million students, and more than 50,000 have been motivated to participate in an annual coastal and beach cleanup called Kids Ocean Day. When speaking to students, Michael stresses the importance of protecting marine wildlife from the hazards of ocean pollution and plastics, and about our connection to nature. With adult audiences, he shares what he’s learned about K-12 environmental education methodologies.
Bioneers are people dedicated to re-imagining the future of our planet. They are biological pioneers who are working with nature to heal nature and ourselves.
